WWI Trench Art Shell Case from Famous Battle of Argonne, France – Item 114573

WWI trench art shell case formed into a vase from a shell picked up at the famous battle of Meuse-Argonne. Scalloped decoration and with battlefield name. Base stamped A.R.S 1.18. Good overall condition. Measures 31cm in height and diameter of 7.5cm. An interesting trench souvenir.

Note: The Meuse-Argonne Offensive was the largest and deadliest battle fought by the American Expeditionary Forces (AEF) during WWI, occurring from September 26 to November 11, 1918 and culminating in the Armistice that ended the war.
