Third Reich Wehrpass & 3 Documents to Conscript Guard At Dachau & Sachsenhausen – Item 96133

Wehrpass and three documents to Ludwig Konrad. The Wehrpass (Military Record Book) issued 10.7.1937 to 41 year old Ludwig Konrad by Military Registration in Passau. Found fit to serve in the Landwehr (Territorial Reserve). Served in WWI from 25.1.1916 to 20.5.1919 in 1st Infantry Regiment Munich (P.12). There is an entry in the book for SS Sturmbann Concentrations Camp Dachau 24.11.1944 to 29.12.1944.

It appears that Konrad who from 1937 was a Member of the Territorial Reserve Army, was inducted into the Waffen SS and transferred as a Guard to Dachau and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camps. Tis was not unusual at this time, as there was a chronic manpower shortage and the younger Guard units of the camps were transferred as Infantry to Frontline units and were replaced by the Reserve older troops.

There is also an Information letter in this grouping to Konrad informing him of his duties in the Landwehr dated 2.2.1944 and a Mobilisation Order and travel warrant to Dachau as Guard on 21.11.1944. The other document is his SS Induction Record bompiled by S Erganzungsamt and notes two periods of guard duty at Dachau and Sachsenhausen.

 An interesting grouping
