Third Reich Post Card of Erwin Von Witzleben – Item 97203

Scarce Third Reich commemorative post card of General Erwin Von Witzleben. A leading conspiritor in the 20 July assassination of Hitler bomb plot. Good condition.

Note: In 1941 he was even appointed Commander-in-Chief OB West , succeeding Generalfeldmarschall Gerd von Rundstedt, but only a year later, he took leave from that position for health reasons. Some sources, however, claim that he was again forcibly retired at this time after he had criticised the regime for its invasion of the Soviet Union on 22 June 1941 in Operation Barbarossa.
