Third Reich Lapland Shield & Citation – Item 87490

Third Reich Lapland service shield glue mounted on wooden frame with citation awarded to Gefr Saxl Hubert. Shows German troops in action. Signed by the company commander for service May – June 1940. Mounted in its original frame by veteran. Unfortunately glass now damaged so would need re-framing or glazing.

Note: The Lapland shield was awarded to members of the 20th mountain army group who had served at least six months in that area. Interestingly the badge continued to be made and awarded after the war in Europe.
