Third Reich Herman Meyer Tropical Cap – Item – 113039

Scarce Luftwaffe Tropical Herman Meyer peaked cap. Complete with its correct pattern bevo tropical backed insignia. Leather chin strap. Also complete with cloth neck flap. Size marked 55 and manufacturers issued stamp to red cotton lining.  The Herman Meyer cap was exclusively worn by members of the Herman Goring Division in North Africa and Italy. Name after the famous German comedian, these caps were call this a dig at Goring who stated that no enemy air craft would fly over Berlin. A scarce tropical peaked cap in good overall condition with just minor service wear.
