Complete set of 7 Bank Notes of different denominations printed in the State Printing Works Prague in 1943. From the Taerestenstadt Concentration Camp. All un-used examples. Notes each show Moses hold an image of the 10 commandments written in Hebrew. The German text on the notes translates to a strict warning against counterfeiting the note. This was a show propaganda camp. To show the Red Cross that it was a Jewish run camp. Thus hiding the the actual horrendous conditions. A rare set of these unique notes.
Note: Theresienstadt was known for its relatively rich cultural life, including concerts, lectures, and clandestine education for children. The fact that it was governed by a Jewish self-administration as well as the large number of “prominent” Jews imprisoned there facilitated the flourishing of cultural life
