British Prime Minister’s Visit to Germany 1936-37 Documentation – Item 99424

Group of  Third Reich Documents Relating to a Visit by Former British Prime Minister David Lloyd George in August 1936 to a Meeting with Adolf Hitler. The first document is on headed paper of the Presidential Chancellery (Prasidialkanzlei) and is a note to state that the German embassy in London has informed them that Lloyd George will be visiting Germany and requests an audience with Adolf Hitler and how he did not want it to be released to the press. The lower portion of this document has hand written details about the meeting and the reverse is handwritten with more details about the meeting.  Second document is dated 14th February 1937 and relates to the meeting which took place at Berchtesgaden in August 1936. The third document is relating to an article written by Mr Conwell-Evans, who had accompanied Lloyd George on the visit. The note states that this article had been added to the official archive and is initialled by (Otto) Meissner.
