Third Reich Warschau 1944 Arm Shield – Item 118858

Bronze construction arm shield for the Warschau shield 1944. Bronze shield with attachment holes to edge. Officially these badges were never issued but this certainly appears to have age. Instituted on 10.12.1944 and was to be awarded as a Battle badge to members of the armed forces who between 1 August – 2 October 1944 were honourably engaged with fighting in Warsaw. The awards were initiated SS General Von Dem Bach Zelewski, who commanded the troops in the Warsaw operation.
