Note: Sir Oswald Mosley leader of the British Union of Fascists was a member of Parliament for Harrow. Born 16.11.1896 and died in France aged 84. He formed the British Union of Fascists in 1931. Mosley was a noted philanderer and had numerous affairs including before his first marriage a short affair with his first wife’s sister, Mary Curzon. Mosley spent a large amount of his fortune on the BUF and tried to establish it on a firm footing by negotiating with Adolf Hitler for permission to broadcast commercial radio to Britain from Germany. Mosley organised many marches by the black shirts and the government was sufficiently concerned to ban political uniforms and military organisations. On May 23rd 1940 Mosley who was mostly focused on negotiating peace with Germany was interned under the Defence Regulation 18B along with most active Fascists in Britain. He was released in 1943 and spend the rest of the war under house arrest.
