Third Reich Hitler Youth Carved Wooden “Thanks” Plate – Item 113575

Unusual carved wooden bread plate. Measures 30cm in width. Heavily carved around edge thanking the Fuhrer for the bread we receive. Centre of bowl decorated with runic symbols including HJ rune. Rear carved with date 1944.

Note: Himmler was very much for the growing of wheat etc for the feeding of the German people and placed great importance on farming and land food production. This plate would have been presented to a HJ member as a prize during this period.
