Presentation Silver Bowl – 1936 German Olympics – Item 113478

Unusual petal shaped large candle holder in silver plate presented to Dorothy Tyler-Odam, a British entrant for the high jump and to commemorate her 2nd place silver medal in the 1936 German Olympics. Manufactured by Reed & Barton. Inscribed to inside base with Olympic rings and date 1936. Diameter of bowl 10.5cm. Good overall condition. Interesting memento from the Berlin Olympics.

Note:  Dorothy Odam-Tyler won high jump silver medals in 1936 and 1948, the only women to win track & field Olympic medals both before and after World War II.
