Knights Cross Winner Autographed Photo – Oberst Rolf Due – Item 113333

Post war pen autographed photograph of Oberst Rolf Due who was awarded the Knights Cross on the 23.4.1945. He was a battalion commander and awarded the knights cross for his command on the unit during the ferocious battles around the area of the Baranov bridge head near Breslau in 1945. With the 19th Panzer division they surrendered in May 1945 and he was held in captivity in Czechslovakia and Russia for three years. In April 1956 he returned to military service with the Bundeswehr and was sent to the US armoured school at Fort Knox Kentucky.
