Napoleonic Letters Sussex Yeomanry – Item 96926

Interesting collection of four letters by George White Thomas, Captain of the Sussex Yeomanry Cavalry during the Napoleonic Wars. From a file of letters to Cox & Greenwood, Army Agents. First letter interestingly states that he has received swords for his troops which are perfectly useless as there are no sword loops. Second letter from Lord Egretmont, asking for arms to be forwarded to him. Third letter is a payment letter and fourth letter interestingly states that when arms were sent to his troop of Yeomanry no ammunition was sent with them.   Asking for ammunition to be sent as soon as possible.  A good insight into the chaotic situation during the Napoleonic wars.
