Third Reich Rosenthal Porcelain Fuhrer Plaque – Item 116817

Third Reich Rosenthal Fuhrer porcelain plaque/Tile.  Measures 12.5 x 10 inches approx (the rarer larger example produced). Excellent condition.

Note:  To manufacture this striking plaque Rosenthal was licensed to use the famous Willy Exner portrait of Hitler in a trench coat with the collar turned up. The same portrait was sold millions of times as both a postcard and a print by Heinrich Hoffmann Studio of München (Munich).

The Rosenthal firm was probably the premier porcelain manufacturing company in all of Nazi Germany and the back of this plaque is very clearly marked with the logo of Rosenthal and the word GERMANY and the caption Der Führer Gemälde von Willy Exner (The Führer after a painting by Willy Exner).
