Third Reich German POW Wedding Document – Item 116807

A most unusual WWII German POW wedding certificate. Commemorating a wedding between and English woman and a German POW from the German Satellite camp Hanworth. Framed with her wedding silver paper head wreath and certificate from camp. Signed by the registrar in 1947. Contained in its period frame. Measures  38 x 47cm.

Note: Fraternisation between prisoners of war and local English girls was not looked on favourably but obviously this being an exception.
