Cast cut out brass Third Reich Sonderverbund 288 cap badge. Pin back fixing (pin repaired). Good condition with palm tree and swastika. Made in bazaars for the German occupying forces.

Note:  Sonderverband 288: A motorized unit formed in 1942 comprising Germans with Middle Eastern experience, Arab translators, and a mobile Arabic printing press. Originally intended for operations in Iraq, it instead fought with the Afrika Korps in North Africa and was later renamed Panzer-Grenadier-Regiment Afrika
