Imperial German Presentation Photograph of Prince Heinrich of Prussia – Item 99940

Interesting period photograph of Prince Heinrich of Prussia. He was Grand Admiral of the Imperial German Navy. Dedication to lower part of picture in ink to Captain Beuttner in commemoration of his service as commander of the assault party of the heavy cruiser Graf Spree. Signed in Danzig on 15.9.1917. Photo measures 15 x 22cm and in good overall condition.

Note: Prince Albert William Henry of Prussia was the younger brother of the German Emperor William II. He was also the Grandson of Queen Victoria. A career Naval Officer he held various commands in the Imperial German Navy and eventually rose to the rank of Grand Admiral. He died 20.4.1929.
