British Notts & Derby – RFC Brothers Medal Groupings – Item 93924

Emotive WWI grouping of medals to two brothers. Consisting of medals to 1418 Pte C V Lee, Notts & Derby regiment. Consisting of Silver War Medal & Victory Medal, bar mounting and original ribbons. Then group of four medals to 1418 Pte  V C Lee, Notts & Derby including Silver War Medal marked 39240 Sgt G V Lee RAF. Plus his Victory and WWII medal. Bar mounted for wear. Comes with studio portrait of the brothers in uniform. One as a machine gunner and one as RFC.  Charles Vernon Lee enlisted 1914 in the Sherwood Foresters and sailed for France in 1916. Transferred to the Royal Air Force (RFC) in march 1918 and served with the 98th RAF bombing Squadron. Sgt G F Lee 1st-6th Sherwood foresters joined 1914 and sailed to France 1915 and served as a Maxim machine gun sergeant for two years and was wounded in April 1915. A nice emotive grouping to two brothers worthy of further research.
