Third Reich U Boat Service Plaque – Item 120637

Interesting wooden wall plaque. Measuring approx 27 x 20cm. Commemorating service in Saint Nazaire on German U Boat. Carved with German U boat and eagle and swastika and marked “Zur Erinnerung An Meine Dienstzeit Auf Der Front Kriegsmarine Werft St Nazaire”. (In memory of my service at the Kriegsmarine shipyard in Saint-Nazaire). Good conditiion.

Note: St Nazaire housed Germany’s 6th and 7th U-boat Flotillas (operational from June 1941 to May 1945), containing 14 pens (pens 1–8 as dry docks, pens 9–14 as wet berths) alongside workshops, offices, magazines, and crew quarters.
