Fantastic gilt framed German silk banner for a Naval Rating Walter Gentek. Dated 1939 and commemorating his service on Urslila Rickmers. Measures in frame 56 x 66cm . Decorated with large German eagle above period photo of sailor and surrounded by flags of the different nations he visited. Contained in period gilt frame. Built in 1928. worthy of further research.
