Lusitania Sinking Propaganda Medal & Paper – Item 94035

WWI produced Sinking of the Lusitania propaganda medal. Produced by the British of an example said to be made by the Germans commemorating their sinking of the Lusitania. Comes complete with its scarce and often missing issue paper giving details of the medal.

Note:  The RMS Lusitania was a UK-registered ocean liner that was torpedoed by an Imperial German Navy U-boat during the First World War on 7 May 1915, about 11 miles off the Old Head of Kinsale, Ireland. Only 761 people survived out of the 1,266 passengers and 696 crew aboard, and many of the casualties were American citizens. Turned international opinion against Germany.
