Complete with its period sewn bevo eagle and swastika and tropical backed cockade insignia and apple green waffenfarbe to front. Aluminium air vents to either side (one with remains of tropical paint finish) Original red cotton lining. Size marked 58 and dated 1942. Makers stamp there but are extremely feint and difficult to read. Red cloth lining with size mark 60 and makers stamping plus date 1942. Typical of this Schellenberg caps with extra ring around central band. Complete with its period sewn breast eagle – a common feature on this make of cap and single cockade. Similar cap shown on Pg 218 of “Afrika Korps” 41-42 by David Bunch and Daniel Fisher. Completed with its buttons to back for attachment of neck flap. Buttons with remains of tropical paint finish.
