British 8th Army Montgomery Personal Message – Item 98112

Interesting modern framed British Army poster. Written by General Montgomery and sent to members of the 8th Army. Dated March 1943 stating on 5 March Rommel addressed his troops and on the next day 6th March attacked the 8th Army. Monty stating “He should have known that the 8th Army never withdraws therefore his attack could end only in failure which it did”. Also stating that the days of the Axis forces in North Africa are indeed numbered and stating that we will not stop or let up until Tunis has been captured and the enemy has either given up the struggle or been pushed into the sea. Asking each member of the 8th Army please wait and do his duty. Measures 30 x 24cm approx. An interesting Afrika Korps related document.
