Third Reich Press Photo – SA Martyr Hans Maikowski Grave – Item 98790

12 x 17cm press photo of the wreath laying ceremony for the SA Martyr Hans Maikowski. The fuhrer’s wreath is laid at Maiikowski’s grave.

Note:  Maikowski died in an incident in Berlin-Charlottenburg the night after Adolf Hitler was  appointed Reich Chancellor and was subsequently systematically stylized by Nazi propaganda as the “blood victim and martyr ” of the new system.

From 20 February 1931 until his death, he was leader of the SA-Sturm 33 in Berlin . The “Mördersturm[s] 33″ was responsible for numerous murders of political opponents in the early 30s.
