Third Reich German State Railways Company Enamelled Sign – Item 98004

Scarce large enamelled building plaque for the German State Railway Company. Measures 40 x 61cm approx. Blue with orange lettering and early eagle and swastika. Gothic inscription (State Railways motorised goods, circulation or traffic and incoming and outgoing goods).  Good overall condition with just some minor enamel chips to front from shrapnel and corner enamel loss where removed from wall. An exact example is shown on Pg 285 of Wall Plaques and official sign boards of Hitler’s Third Reich 1933-45 by Wilhelm Saris & Philippe Gillain.  Rare and hard to find nowadays.
