Third Reich Coburg Badge – Item 93258

Rare Third Reich 1922 Coburg badge. Bronze solid construction with slender pin fixing to reverse. Good condition.

Note: In 1922 a number of patriotic organisations planned German Day in Coburg. On Saturday and Sunday 14 & 15 October. Hitler attended with 800 hand picked SA men and a 42 piece band on a special train from Munich. At this period Coburg was controlled by the Communists who held power in Coburg. After a number of clashes with Hitler’s men the hold of the Red Front on the city of Coburg was broken. 10 years after this event on the 14 October 1932 Hitler instituted a special commemorative badge for the veterans of the battle of Coburg. The badge having an inscription around the edge “Mit Hitler in Coburg 1922-1932″. This official party decoration was ranked higher than the Blood order and was worn on the left breast pocket. A scarce and seldom found badge.
