Comes complete with its original ribbon. Oakleaf award mounted to Knights Cross. Cross itself is a three piece construction with all original finish to the Iron core. Consisting of his British Airborne Forces steel helmet complete with harness chin strap. Retains all its original olive drab paint finish and manufacturers stamp to liner. Also a presentation pewter tankard decorated with Pegasus and marked “Presented by the Sergeants Mess, HQ 16th Para BDE. Also a wooden wall shield plaque to the 3rd Parachute Regiment and a captured Chetnics souvenir flag with skull and cross bones. A scarce seldom found example in mint un-issued condition. Brought back by veteran directly from stores. Mint sweatband still with size tag attached. Sweat crown celluloid with RLB emblem and manufacturers markings. Nicely toned insignia to front. Blue wool construction with enamelled HJ diamond to front and cap tally for the Monte Olivia. Complete with its original ersatz sweatband and black silk lining. A scarce cap to this small marine HJ unit.

Note:  During the war, she served as a hospital ship, accommodation ship and finally, evacuation ship during Operation Hannibal. After completing one of her runs from East Prussia to mainland Germany, she was bombed by the Allies on April 3, 1945 and sunk.
